Since 1993, I have been working full-time as a professional artist, with my own workspace and a small home gallery. I said goodbye to my career in secondary education as a creative teacher, teaching the subject of crafts, and started painting in acrylic on linen. I also took lessons from professional sculptors who taught me the technique of working with hard stone. After that came the commissions for bronze sculptures.
The tranquility and beautiful colors in nature inspired my painting. Working outdoors was my greatest passion. In my three-dimensional work, I usually use the human figure as a starting point. While working with the material, I can let go of reality and reveal the associations that arise within me and are reflected in the artwork. For me personally, art is an inner encounter with your soul that evokes emotions.
I use the power of those emotions, together with color and technique, to unlock something inner within me that is difficult to describe in words. Something that influences consciousness. The artwork created in this way ensures that this emotion can be relived for a long time. If someone buys a sculpture from me and feels the same emotion, then as far as I am concerned, such a sculpture may go to the new owner.
